YOU

Long ago –

Under glittering stars one night
Hearts together, I held you tight

From castle walls we watched the skies
Fill with golden light of sunrise
And diamond light still fills your eyes

Now that I seek the light alone
Do you feel my love for you is gone?

No –

Within my heart is a prayer
That in the land of golden dreams

I find you there
In wildflower meadows where light gleams
From a silvery star

Know forever I am your friend
And deeply loved you are

LAVA LOCKED

My heart is lava-locked

In the fields of Kalapana

Madam Pele’s hot kiss

Is in my soul tonight

The starry skies of South Point

The green sands and black

Oh the temples of Wood Valley

All are calling me back

My heart is lava-locked

From Leiliani to Kapoho

Madam Pele’s fiery love

Is in my soul this night

The starry skies of Mauna Kea

Mauna Loa’s forests of rain

The daughter of creation

Is calling me back again

Are Islands Alive?

Sunrise over Kauai

Blue/Green + Golden sand

The night loses its magic

The day begins to dance

Are islands alive?

Do they breathe in

The warm tropical breezes

Do they exhale turquoise surf?

Is Love like an island –

A warm embrace of wonder

A surrender of the heart

Into a peaceful sea of Light?

Sunset over Kauai

Golden Fire into Green/Blue

The day enfolds into twilight

The stars begin to dance

Echo

I have bled into the skies

And jumped off the cliffs of Eternity

Into a black whirlpool of silence

I hollered: “I LOVE YOU!”

My life has flowed out

The veins of existence

A red glow of warmth

Is all there is left

A glimmering glow of sunshine

A shimmering dream come True

All that’s left is a sound

An Echo: “I LOVE YOU!”

Lake Shrine Dawn

Lake Shrine, the fair

Where street lights glare

Shimmering across the lake

Soft sounds dare, break silence rare

As peeping birds awake

Lake Shrine, so fair

A blue jewel rare

In a mountain diadem

Stars fade with night, as dawning light

Shines from deep within

Ah! Floral wonderland of love, of calm

Glimpse of Divine Mother’s face

Gathered rains of her compassion

A teardrop of Her grace

Diamond Eyes

The stars have witnessed my prayers at night

Cold moon has been my only light

But there again in darkness lies

A shimmering halo – your diamond eyes

The laughter, the hope reflected there

The call, the answer of my prayer

In diamond eyes I have been shown

The greatest wisdom: Seek God alone

Love Offering

An offering of moonglow in the night

And stars afire I give to you

Diamonds of multi-hue

Dazzling in their light

The sky is my heart

Embracing waves of space

At last I recall the place

Where a sunset is a gift

Like flowers tossed into the sea

Ah yes!  You remind me

Prayer of Mother Pele

I’ve melted into Your magic once again

Howled at the hula moon

Danced in a warm rain

My soul has bowed at your heiaus

My Mother Pele

And I heard your whispers

With the trade winds

With the gentle rains

And I answered

Mother, possess our hearts

Surround us with Your Love

My Friend

Long ages past, on distant shore
We laughed and talked, just as before
In distant lands under smiling sun
We lived as kings, we had our fun
By stormy seas, with swords in hand
Side by side, we won the land
The winds of time ‘ner cease to blow
Millenniums pass, yet this I know
It matters not what the fates may send
We’ll meet again, you’ll be my friend

MEDITATION ON TASMAN SEA

I sat on the Tasman Sea beach

Baptismal waters within reach

“Get off your arse, you silly fool

The sun is warm, the water cool”

Yet there I sat, in the warm breeze

And that was truly the way of ease

But how often in life do we hesitate

On our arse at Eternity’s gate

Seize opportunity, seize the day

Into adventure’s tide we should play

Wondrous moments may slip away

CHRISTMAS TIME

Scatter rays across the skies,

starbursts of love –

to where darkness lies.

And into the heart of sadness

Inflame the fire of joy and gladness.

And with the years of your life commit

To spreading all goodness,

The Christmas Spirit

DIVINE LOVE

In life I seek a love divine,

Not treasure nor crown for me.

Not magic fire nor any sign

Do I wish to see.

But only love, perfect love true,

A love so deep in hue

It encircles worlds with boundless joy

And spreads friendship like fire

One love, endless love

is my soul’s desire.

RARE JEWEL

Rare Jewel of service, how it does shine!

Making life sweet, sublime

If only all could see true happiness lies

Not in gold or what it buys

But in making happy others’ lives

That is the secret that satisfies

  • With no thought of personal gain
  • Cup of joy is filled the same

It’s so easy to be friend

Give a smile, lend a hand

Open a door, do more and more

What goodness! what joy! such serving brings

Then the heart, the soul sings!

Ah, rare jewel of giving

How you do shine

Oh love in action, Oh joy divine

Oh rare jewel of service

Be mine

ALONE, AND IN LOVE

Alone, and in love

With peaceful solitude

With quiet moon above

In prayerful gratitude

In love

With soft wind’s silence

With sunrays’ brillance

Green forest patience

The joyous love

Is overflowing my heart

Around, below, above

I am a tiny part

Of a vast sea of love

PRAYER FOR THE NEW YEAR

I’m tired of things sitting, gathering dust

Tired of stuff lying about, turning to rust

I want an organized future, tidy and neat

I want my thoughts and speech, courteous and sweet

to forgive the past, to live here and now

to embrace the moment, and to each one bow

I want to strive beyond human, into the Divine

I want to find the joy, which surely is mine —

as a part of the One, a speck of the whole

Yes,! I will find the way to live in my soul

LAHAINA TOWN MEMORIES

The Kaua’ula winds blew

Fanning Goddess Pele’s fire

The Lahaina Town we once knew

A burning funeral pyre

Aloha spirit’s glow dimmed

On a fiery August night

Even Lahaina memories singed

By hot flaming light

But the aloha spirit cures

As the world answers Maui’s appeal

Aloha means what’s mine is yours

And Lahaina Town will heal
